We at SecurU had the pleasure of working on an awesome project with Victoria Commons site in Kitchener, Ontario. The project was to install a telephone entry system that allows the residents of the site to have access to the property as well as to have the ability to allow access to their visitors when needed. We were also required to install security cameras in various spots of the property to ensure the safety of the residents and personnel of the site.

Kantech Telephone Entry System Installation
Thus, SecurU installed a Kantech Telephone Entry System (KTES) at the underground parking garage inbound entrance of Victoria Commons. The system was installed with a Kantech ioProx wireless receiver that will allow residents of the building to access the underground parking area with an IoProx wireless transmitter. The transmitter also shares the IoProx proximity card credential that is used to access the building such as the main vestibule entrance, amenities rooms, fitness areas, and other shared areas within the building.
The telephone entry system requires a dedicated telephone line that will allow all visitors to be able to navigate through the simple-to-operate directory. The system will then contact the residents’ landline or mobile phone, releasing the garage door to the underground parking area with the press of a button. The image on the right shows the Kantech KTES that is located at the top of the parking garage entrance. The telephone entry system is protected by concrete bollards that help prevent the KTES from malicious damage.

This location has a vandal resistant TruVision 3.0 megapixel IP camera with wide dynamic range, heater and varifocal lens to ensure the vehicle and license plate recognition image is crystal clear.
The TruVision TVD-3204 camera offers a motorized lens that allows our installers to remote focus the image for the best resolution and offers 164 feet (50m) of IR range at night. This will allow the best image output, ensuring that the site has stellar surveillance.

Such a system really makes it easy and simple to access the property without compromising its security and safety of its residents. The system acts as a constant surveillance tool that is on the look out 24/7.
A Well Planned Layout

Location, location, location! Our SecurU team of professionals designed the system layout of security hardware to ensure the best locations for the cameras were determined.
Covering all points of access into a facility is critical and our SecurU professionals always take all aspects of security and building functionality into account when designing the ideal security solution.
The image on the left shows the TruVision TVD-3204 3-megapixle IP camera with ½” EMT conduit stubbed directly into the housing for a clean and tidy installation which is watertight and vandal resistant.

The Kantech telephone entry system has a rugged housing that can be surface-mounted to a pedestal or flush-mounted into a wall.
With this application the KTES is mounted on a concrete base with a DoorKing architectural straight post so that the intercom does not overhang past the protective bollards. This will also help prevent damage to the unit from vehicles and pedestrians.
The Kantech intercom has a heater kit that protects the product during harsh weather conditions and a covert camera can be installed inside for facial viewing of visitors.
Kantech Telephone Intercom For Easy Access To Entrance

The Kantech telephone intercom (KTES) is a sleek and user friendly product that can contact residents with both a traditional phone line or a mobile device. The residents will be called when they are home, or away from the property, and can choose to grant or deny access into the property with the press of a button on their phone.
ioProx wireless transmitter and receivers make entry into the site very safe and convenient. With the press of a button a resident can open the underground garage and obtain easy access into the building without even rolling down the vehicle window. The ioProx card can also be used to provide access into and around the building which prevent adding multiple keys to your keychain.

Kantech ioProx P225XSF reader can be neatly installed on the mullion of the door frame, allowing residents to conveniently present the Kantech proximity card or key tag to the reader to unlock the door.

In the top corner of the vestibule your will see an image of the TruVision IP indoor IR wedge camera which is available in both 1.3 and 3.0 megapixels. The TruVision TVW-3102 is a 3-megapixel camera that is true day/night with 33 feet of IR, Digital Wide Dynamic Range for a crisp image and can also accommodate a Micro SD or SDCC card for extra storage. The TruVision TVW-3102 has an IP66 environmental rating and IK8 Vandal rating. In the middle of the entry vestibule, you will see the Kantech KTES Telephone Entry system directory that visitor will use to contact the resident of the building.
