A day of a smart home owner may seem to be just like any other, full of chores, lists, errands, tasks, the list goes on… However, thanks to their smart home system the day actually tends to get better and easier. We decided it would be quite interesting to jot down the entire day of a smart home owner in order to give you some insight as to what their day may look like.
A Day of a Smart Home Owner
6AM Wake Up
The alarm goes off and its the start of a brand new day. You wake up by checking your smart home app on your phone to make sure everything is in order by disarming the system, readjusting the smart thermostat and ensuring that all the external night lights have been switched off. You then freshen up, get ready, and wake the kids up.
7AM Breakfast
Once everyone is up and getting ready, you then proceed to the kitchen and get the food ready.
8AM Leave the House
The kids are excited and full of energy, thanks to that Nutella toast, and now you can’t seem to be able to get them to calm down. You somehow manage to get them in the car but now you can’t remember if you checked the doors to see if they’re locked. Thus, you quickly use your smart home app on your phone to make sure all the doors are locked and the lights turned off. You also use the app to open the garage door and close it on your way out. Once all of this is ensured, you then drive away to conquer the rest of the day.
9AM Arrive to Work
You arrive to work but before you dive into your pile of tasks, you check your smart home app on your smart phone to ensure everything at home is in order. Once you’re satisfied, you dig in and start working with complete peace of mind.
10AM Meetings
Meetings start and you’re completely in focus as you have nothing else to worry about since you know if something were to happen at home, you’d be notified on your phone.
11AM Let the Maid In
You’re having your late morning tea and get notified on your phone that the maid has arrived. You use the app to unlock the door for them to enter. Once they leave, you get notified about their departure and thus, can now lock the doors and ensure everything is in order all through your smart phone.
12AM Lunch
It is now lunch time and you’re curious about what is going at home. So, you take out your smart phone and do a quick review on your smart home app. Satisfied, you start clearing away whatevers on your plate.
1PM Check-In
You’re back at work now and do a quick review on your smart home app to see if anything happened while you were away. Once satisfied, you dive back into work with complete focus.
2PM Let the Dog Walker In
It is 2PM which means it is time for the dog walker to come take your puppy out on a stroll. As soon as they approach the door and ring your video doorbell, you answer the door through your phone and ensure it is in fact your dog walker and let them in via your smart phone.
3PM Kids are Home
It is almost the end of the day for you and the kids have already come home. You know that because each time they use their code to get in, you get a notification on your phone. Now, that you know everyone is home, you can finish up work with complete peace of mind.
4PM Courier Arrives
You’re working away to have everything finished for the day when your phone rings and its the courier guy delivering the parcel you’ve been waiting for. Since you know the delivery guy personally, as he’s been the one delivering parcels at your door for years, you unlock the door to let him in to place the parcel. Once he leaves, you lock the doors and check in with the kids to make sure everything is in order.
5PM Leave Work
It is finally time to leave work! You rejoice and leave the place with all smiles and giggles as you’ve had a pretty productive day at work.
6PM Dinner
You’re back home and all ready to prep for dinner. You grab your phone and adjust the temperature of the house quickly through your smart home app as it has started to get a bit cooler. You then also ensure that the ventilation is turned on as well so that the house doesn’t get all stuffy from all the cooking.
7PM Family Time
Dinner is devoured and dishes are put away. It is now time to spend some quality time with the family. You dim the lights via your smart phone while you’re still on the couch, in order to prep for some good watch on the T.V.
8PM Prep for Sleep
Now that the show is over, it is now time to get ready for bed. You use your smart home app to ensure all night lights are turned on, sprinklers turned off, all doors are locked and secured, including your garage door.
9PM Goodnight
Now that you have ensured all internal lights are off, external on, doors are locked, temperature is set perfectly all through your smart home app on your phone, you can now go to sleep with complete peace of mind. Night, night!
